A Lamp Lit Wanders With Crooked Stick

Those that can see
often bespeak of metaphors
while shadows play
outside of reach

For metaphors
are the icons and symbols
of our language
we may perceive
simple ideas
as models to tinker with.
Some mundane, some profound
and like volcanoes
create the continents we walk.

While shadows play
outside of candle light:
the fear found in ignorance,
ill-informed, and lied-to.

Outside of reach,
lies the present.
We may perceive
simple ideas and models
that create the continents we walk.
For if all was ambiguous
where did land come from
but from metaphor,
the apple of my eye.
